Good day to you ladies and gentlemen, readers and viewers respectively. I bring to you the 5 most inspiring moments at the Anambra Creative Forum 2017 that was held at the Kenneth Dike Digital Library, Awka.
On the 11th day of May 2017, the whole of Awka city in Anambra State, Nigeria was illuminated by the brightness of the intense knowledge and ideas of expertise shared at the platform of Anambra Broadcasting Service Creative Forum held at Kenneth Dike Library, beside Aroma Junction.
The programme which was scheduled to commence at 10:00AM prompt was delayed to about 10:30AM before it started. The show had in presence the likes of Hon. Sir Pete Ibida, who is the member representing Njikoka II Constituency in the Anambra state house of Assembly, The MD/CEO of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Nze Uche Nworah, The MD National Light Newspaper, Sir Chuka Nnabuife, Prof. Stella Okunna who is the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, The CEO Okwaifugo Integrated Services, Mr. Ikemme Chizoba, A former Beauty Queen of th state, The Founder of CampusAmebo, Kachukwu Kachukwu, The SSA To The Anambra State Government on Grassroots Orientation and Enlightenment, Mr. Anthony Ugorji, Paschal Osubor, Martin Beck Nworah and the host of others. Also in presence was Imiano, The CEO, JusPos Blog (juspos.blogspot.com).
The programme started with an opening prayer, rehearsal of the National Anthem, followed by that of the Anambra State Anthem.
An opening speech was made by the presenter, Mr. Eze Onwuji who spoke the decadence in the academic pursuit of the youths and the way forward. In not more than 5 minutes, Sir Pete Ibida (Onyeonadilimma) arrived at the event in the company of his media aide. A formal introduction of the members of the high table was made by the MC, MC Roy. The MD of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Nze Uche Nworah stood up to address the audience. That was not until he had recognized Sir Pete Ibida as his 'Senior' at the College Of Immaculate Conception, CIC, Enugu state formerly.
The MD thanked the participating audience for being there, the special guests and the ABS ICT team while going on to reveal the purpose of the event. From what he said, The Anambra Creative Forum was begun in 2015, ie.. 2 years back in response to the poor reading habits perceived in the youths and also to open a channel where the average youth can communicate, get educated and interact with people of like minds, while also saying that the programme aims at harnessing the power of creativity in the youths. From his speech, he revealed that the programme had received a warmth accolade from a prominent Blogger in the state, Ms. Chisom Amanda who is the CEO of Amandachisom.net. In the video which was projected later for the delightful viewing of the participants, The acclaimed Blogger was seen in her Abuja residence and spoke about her journey so far in Blogging career. She advised the youths to get hold of the opportunity their mobile phones can offer them as she was already making positive achievements in the blogosphere Speaking on the benefits of the event, MD of ABS, Nze Uche Nworah noted that the programme would open channels of multiple opportunities to the youth while also getting them exposed to the on goings in the local creativity industry. There was also an interactive session where the participants were allowed to ask bulging' questions and were clarified by the special guests on the issues raised. There were also special announces on important issues to the youth, quiz and contests announcements for the youths especially by the Staff of Skye Bank who engaged a selected section of the youth in a quiz competition, made announcement for a now on going contest for the students who are below the age of 12 with structural and cash prizes to be win by the best participants at the end of the contest, the deadline for the contest is 21st of May, 2017. Also, while speaking at the event, Prof. Okunna gave the students a task in order to for them to improve the reading 'culture'. She said, "Pick a recommended novel from your school, read it in a period of from now to next month, make a one page summary of the novel and submit to your school authority." as it would definitely get to her. She also that prizes would be awarded to the best contestants who come 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the contest.

While speaking at the event too, Prof. Okunna enjoined the youths to develop good reading habits, be a 'voracious' reader as she was during her time. She charged the youths to tap into the opportunities that modern technology could offer them unlike in her days when they didn't have such opportunities. She charged the youths to read positive things on the Internet, make use of their phones for reading electronic books and also try as much as possible to avoid being distracted. She said at the age of 12, she already identified where she was heading to and today, we could all see where she is.
Speaking at the programme also, the Honourable member representing Njikoka II constituencies in the state house of Assembly, Sir Pete Ibida (Onyeonadilimma) delivered a leading speech on the "7 Way Formular" which emphasized on the Roles Played By Parents And Teachers In Shaping their wards' creativity. Speaking at the event, Sir Pete Ibida noted that every well-meaning parent and teacher should cater for the progress of their wards. He enjoined the parents, among many other things, help their wards set proper goals for themselves, support the ward's learning style, Motivate the child and also monitor the child's day to day progress in academic performances. He also noted that a well motivated child is better equipped to face life's challenges than an unmotivated one. He recalled that during their day in CIC, Enugu, there were compulsory 'parameters' every student was monitored and evaluated with. Speaking at the programme, he said, "A child who is more motivated and relies in his abilities does not wait on fellow students, lecturers, exam malpractice or 'sorting' to pass his or her examinations but relies solely on the education that has been imbibed in him or her." He made reference also, to the likes of Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Dr. Benjamin Carson who came out victoriously despite life challenges. He urged the students to emulate them.
Also, the next person whe spoke was the MD of National Light Newspaper, Sir Chuka Nnabuife who had already composed a poem of few stanzas titled, "Today in the mid of men" right at the event, what a man! He spoke on the challenges of "Becoming a writer and an Entrepreneur" and also how to overcome them. He cited the likes of Derrick Walcot, Oscar White and the late Nigerian Author, Cyprian Ekwensi who was a graduate in Forestry management and a degree holder in Pharmacy but when on to be the writer with the most volumed number of books in the literature world. He urged the youths to emulate them.
The composer, Anambra State Anthem and founding member, Awka Literary Society, Mr. Anthony Ojubuono also spoke. Paschal Osubor who is A Film Maker, A Writer, An Editor and a cinematographer with the ABS Team also spoke about hus career, educational background and life in general. He used himself as an example and urged the youths to always go for what the want irrespective of the odds.
Also speaking was the renown Media Content Developer and a social media influencer, Martin Beck Nworah, MBN, who is a Final Year Law Student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka and also the author, founder of "Diary Of A UNIZIK Babe", SchoolBagToPortfolio, etc respectively. He talked about his experience in the blogging field and how he started. He inspired the youths by saying that, "No time is too late to start!" He talked about how he met the MD of ABS, Nze Uche Nworah and also, about his plans for the next edition of his SchoolBagToPortfolio interactive workshop coming up soon in Anambra and how the going has been going thus far. He is quite an amiable person, but he doesn't let that come between him and his colleagues.
Furthermore, the next to speak was Mr. Micheal Nwobodo who is an outstanding Animator with the ABS Team. He opened the minds and eyes of the participants to take a peep into the Animation Industry. He talked about his achievements in the industry and what he has been doing. In his words, he said, "Our work is that of giving life to any pictorial object using the power of technology." He opened the gate of opportunity to any of the participants who wants to be in the industry too.
More so, the CEO of Okwaifugo integrated Services, Chizoba Ikemme spoke to the participants, in clear terms, about his 'little' beginnings and how the going has been in the Bulk SMS industry which his brand is known for. He started alone, he said, today, he now has 8 staff working under him. He lost his dad at a very tender age, so he had to struggle ahead to make it in life, according to him. Also at the event was the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Chukwuemeka Odumuegwu Ojukwu University, formerly ANSU, Uli. The CEO of CampusAmebo, Kachukwu Kachukw who spoke about how he started and where he is today. Also was in presence, a Former Beauty Queen of the State, who spoke about her upcoming youths programme at the Emmaus House, Awka on the Saturday, 28th of this month which would be featuring so many interactive and fun filled sessions at 1:00PM.
In conclusion, the Anambra State Creativity Forum 2017 was a huge success and had in presence so many dignitaries in the Oil and Gas sector, Journalism, Blogging world, Film Making Industry, Writing, Publishing and the Creativity industry as well as Students from the various institutions of learning in and from out of the state including the students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University who were in full presence at the event especially during Question & Answer Session where they, mostly undergraduates in the department of English Language and Linguistics took active part and other students from various secondary schools in the state. Lest I forget, The 5 Most Inspirational Moments at the show was when the presenter, Eze Onwuji, welcomed the participants, appreciated the founders of the event, MD of ABS, Nze Uche Nworah And Co., The speech by the Honourable Member Representing Njikoka II Constituency, Sir Pete Ibida, The presentation by the Dean of Faculty, Social Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof. Stella Okunna who is a double Ph.D Holder, The inspiring speech by Paschal Osubor who was a young boy at that and then came the time Martin Beck Nworah spoke! I have read some of his inspirational write ups before, so, I was not surprised meeting in the euphoria of outstanding motivational speech presentation.
